Description

Non certificated course-Build your confidence in speaking, listening, reading, and writing with our friendly ESOL course. Designed for learners of all levels, this class will help you:

Communicate more clearly in everyday situations
Build vocabulary for work, school, and community life
Practise real-life conversations
Improve grammar and pronunciation
Develop skills for filling in forms, making appointments, and talking to professionals
Gain confidence using English in daily life  

What will I learn?
As a parent or carer with English as a second language, you will find out how children learn English at school together with information about the English education system, including the National Curriculum. We will explore how playing games and sharing everyday activities with children in a supportive home environment can help develop English Language skills. You will be able to practice your English conversation skill to gain confidence in a positive learning environment.

What will I need to take part?
All course resources will be provided, but you may find a notebook and pencil useful.

What to expect
This is a face-to-face course in a small group. Please come on time, expect to take part in the conversation and to do some homework activities with your family. Tutors use Google Classroom to help make course resources available both during and between sessions. Please take advantage of joining your Classroom when invited to do so. Where can it lead to?
This introductory course can lead on to a formal ESOL qualification with Adult Learning at a level to suit you. Please ask your tutor if you would like to take your language skills further.

Course eligibility and fees
This adult learning course is available to residents of Northamptonshire who are: - aged 19 or over on 31st August in the funding year - living in England, outside a devolved adult skills funding area. - ordinarily resident in England on the first day of learning. If you don't meet the above requirements, including some international students or people not ordinarily resident in the UK, you will not be able attend this course. Asylum seekers may be eligible to attend in some circumstances, including where they have lived in the UK for 6 months or longer while their claim is being considered, or where they receive certain types of local authority support.
