What will I learn?
You will learn how to use your smartphone or digital device with more confidence in everyday life. This includes connecting to the internet, making calls and sending messages, taking and sharing photos, using apps, staying safe online, and solving common device problems. By the end of the course, you'll be able to use key features more independently and feel more confident finding information, communicating with others, and managing your device.

What will I need to take part?
It is highly recommended that you bring your own smartphone device so you can learn about your device. You may also like to bring a notepad and pen if you wish to take notes.

What to expect
This is a face-to-face course delivered in a friendly, supportive environment where you can learn at your own pace. You will take part in practical, hands-on activities using your own smartphone, tablet, or laptop, with plenty of guidance from your tutor and opportunities to ask questions. There is no exam or formal test. The course is designed to help you build confidence with digital devices, develop useful everyday skills, and become more independent when using technology.

Where can it lead to?
This course can help you become more confident using digital devices in everyday life, making it easier to stay connected, access online services, manage information, and complete everyday tasks independently. It can also be a stepping stone to further digital skills courses, Functional Skills, volunteering opportunities, or training and employment where digital skills are increasingly important. By attending this course, you may also find that you are able to progress onto other qualifications including Functional Skills where you could achieve a Level 2 qualification.

Course eligibility and fees
This adult learning course is available to residents of Northamptonshire who are: - aged 19 or over on 31st August in the funding year - living in England, outside a devolved adult skills funding area. - ordinarily resident in England on the first day of learning. If you don't meet the above requirements, including some international students or people not ordinarily resident in the UK, you will not be able attend this course. Asylum seekers may be eligible to attend in some circumstances, including where they have lived in the UK for 6 months or longer while their claim is being considered, or where they receive certain types of local authority support.
