Description

Take your golf game to the next level with our Golf for Improvers adult learning course, delivered at Brampton Heath Golf Centre by a professional golf coach. This course is ideal for adults who already have some basic golfing experience and would like to build confidence, improve consistency, and develop their overall game in a supportive and enjoyable environment.

Over the duration of the course, you will focus on refining key golfing techniques including swing development, accuracy, short game skills, course management and putting. Sessions combine practical coaching, guided practice and expert advice to help you improve your technique and enjoyment of the game. Whether you are returning to golf after a break or looking to develop the skills learned in a beginner course, this programme offers a great opportunity to improve your confidence on the course while learning alongside others.

What will I learn?
This course is designed for golfers who have already learned the basics and are ready to develop their skills, improve consistency and build confidence on the course. Throughout the 10 weeks you will develop a more consistent golf swing, improve accuracy with driving, iron play and chipping, build confidence with pitching, bunker play and putting, learn course management and shot selection, understand how to adapt your game to different lies and weather conditions, improve your scoring through better decision making, learn techniques to increase distance while maintaining control, develop pre-shot routines and mental strategies to improve performance, gain a better understanding of golf etiquette and competition play, receive individual feedback from your tutor to help you continue improving. By the end of the course, you should feel more confident applying your skills during a full round of golf.

What will I need to take part?
To get the most from the course you should have completed a beginner golf course or have equivalent playing experience. Wear comfortable clothing suitable for outdoor activity and weather conditions and flat-soled trainers or golf shoes if you have them. Bring your own golf clubs if possible (clubs can be borrowed if needed). Bring a waterproof jacket, hat, sunscreen and drinking water as appropriate. Have a willingness to practise between sessions to support your progress. No formal qualification is required, but learners should already be comfortable with the basic golf swing and fundamental rules of the game. Please complete the PARQ form sent to you by adult learning and give to your tutor on the first session.

What to expect
Each weekly session combines demonstrations, practical coaching and plenty of opportunities to practise your skills in a supportive and friendly environment. Your tutor will provide individual guidance and exercises tailored to help you improve your technique and consistency. Sessions may include work on the driving range, short game practice areas and, where appropriate, on-course activities. There will be opportunities to ask questions, monitor your progress and receive constructive feedback throughout the course. Tutors use Google Classroom to help make course resources available both during and between sessions. Please take advantage of joining your Classroom when invited to do so. Where can it lead to?
After completing this course you may wish to continue developing your game through advanced golf coaching, play more regularly at local golf clubs, work towards obtaining or improving a golf handicap, take part in friendly competitions and club events, progress to specialist coaching focusing on areas such as driving, short game or putting or simply enjoy golf as a lifelong sport that supports physical health, wellbeing and social connections.
