Description

This free, face to face MS Applications course helps adults build confidence using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams. Learners develop practical digital skills for the workplace through hands on activities and real life tasks.

During this course, you will develop transferable skills and knowledge that can help you take steps towards employment. You may: Improve your Maths and English skills Develop important workplace soft skills such as communication and confidence Build your digital skills and understanding These skills can support you with work, further learning, and everyday life.

What will I need to take part?
All learning materials will be provided. You may choose to bring a notepad and pen to record notes if you would like. For digital courses, you may also choose to bring your own device for familiarity however this is not essential.

What to expect
This is a face?to?face course delivered in a supportive and friendly environment. The course is FREE, funded by the Connect to Work project. Connect to Work is designed to help adults: Build confidence Develop key skills Take steps back into, or closer to, employment There is no exam pressure, and tutors will support you throughout.

Where can it lead to?
Feeling confident with your academic skills and knowledge is important in many aspects of life including many work-related jobs and communication. Upon completing this course, you will have taken the first step towards a qualification and can lead to further opportunities including applying for a new job, improving your career prospects, supporting children at home or improving your communication skills to improve your home life. By attending this course, you may also find that you are able to progress onto other qualifications including Functional Skills where you could achieve a Level 2 qualification.

The courses provided are FREE to all Northamptonshire residents over the age of 18. To be suitable for Connect to Work, you: Are unemployed or at risk of losing paid work.
