Description

This course will introduce you to the fundamentals of coding, helping you develop logical thinking and problem-solving skills while creating simple programs. We will be introducing these fundamentals using Python, a popular and beginner-friendly programming language. No prior experience is required - just curiosity and a willingness to learn. Ideal for anyone looking to build digital skills or take their first steps towards further study or a career in programming.  

What will I learn?
You will learn the fundamentals of coding through the python. You will learn how to write basic programs and understand the concepts used in their making. - Data Types and Variables - Functions - Control Structures (Loops and Conditions) - How all of these can be brought together to create programs - How coding can be used Each week you will complete a small task that will complete a larger project by the end of the course to compile your learning.

What will I need to take part?
An understanding of computer systems and a desire to learn about programming/coding. Laptops and software will be provided.

What to expect
Hands on demonstrations and practical activities while learning the theory behind what the code means and how it works. We will start with small programs to solve simple problems, moving to larger programs and how they can be broken down into smaller parts.

Where can it lead to?
Completion of this course can lead to progression into more advanced courses. You will be able to write small programs with your own knowledge, that can later be adapted into larger programs.

Course eligibility and fees
This course is for residents of Northamptonshire aged 19+. Fees are payable on enrolment as published on the booking page. If you are in receipt of certain benefits or in employment and earning a low salary, you could be eligible for reduced fees.
