Description

This introductory Paediatric First Aid Workshop is designed for parents, carers and anyone responsible for the care of babies and young children. The session focuses on building confidence to recognise emergencies and take prompt, effective action while waiting for professional medical help. Topics covered include approaching an infant or child casualty safely, assessing responsiveness and breathing, what to do if a baby or child is not breathing, choking in babies and children, managing bleeding, safe and appropriate use of a defibrillator (AED), and answering particular queries. This workshop is suitable for those with no previous first aid experience, as well as those who would like a refresher. It provides essential, life-saving knowledge and reassurance but does not replace a formal paediatric first aid qualification. Please note that this course is for adults only.
