Description

Are you thinking about a career in childcare or early years education? This nationally recognised qualification offers a gentle introduction to working with children aged 0 - 5 in early years settings. You'll explore the importance of play, the role of carers, and how early years environments are organised to support children's development.

This course is ideal for parents, volunteers, or anyone considering a future in childcare. No prior experience is needed. A basic knowledge of English is essential.  

What will I learn?
This course provides an introduction to the early years sector, offering you a foundational understanding of working with young children. It is ideal for those considering a career in early years education or childcare. You will explore the roles and responsibilities within early years settings, as well as the principles of child development and safeguarding. You will gain knowledge and understanding in the following areas: - The role of the early years practitioner - Principles of child development - Health and safety in early years settings - Safeguarding and child protection - Communication and partnership working - Supporting children's play and learning

What will I need to take part?
You will need to be able to travel to the identified venue for your face-to-face class. A pen and paper would be advantageous but not essential.
