Description

You will explore how to create healthy, delicious meal whilst sticking to a budget and using a slow cooker. Whilst also learning about how to measure accurately the ingredients and identify good deals for ingredients, you will also learn about how to effectively budget for meals and understand how to budget when planning and cooking meals. The course will cover a range of valuable tips and tricks to support your cooking whilst also developing your knowledge and confidence in a wide range of Maths concepts.

You will also develop your confidence and skills working within a selection of Mathematical topics relevant to this course including Money and understanding how to budget, portioning, measuring accurately and converting between units.  

What will I learn?

This course is delivered in a face to face setting. This course is a FREE course funded by UKSPF which is designed to develop confidence and skills in adults and learners.

Where can it lead to?
Feeling confident with your academic skills and knowledge is important in many aspects of life including many work-related jobs and communication. Upon completing this course, you will have taken the first step towards a qualification and can lead to further opportunities including applying for a new job, improving your career prospects, supporting children at home or improving your communication skills to improve your home life. By attending this course, you may also find that you are able to progress onto other qualifications including Functional Skills where you could achieve a Level 2 qualification.

UKSPF is a 1 year programme funded by the Government’s People and Skills aimed at supporting adults to increase their basic skills, life skills and well-being. Those who improve their skills across a range of topics including Maths, English and Computing are more likely to be in employment, have higher wages and better wellbeing. Our free courses are for individuals: resident in North or West Northamptonshire,aged 16 and over
