This course provides an introduction to the early years sector, offering you a foundational understanding of working with young children. It is ideal for those considering a career in early years education or childcare. You will explore the roles and responsibilities within early years settings, as well as the principles of child development and safeguarding. You will gain knowledge and understanding in the following areas: - The role of the early years practitioner - Principles of child development - Health and safety in early years settings - Safeguarding and child protection - Communication and partnership working - Supporting children’s play and learning

What will I need to take part?
You will need to be able to travel to the identified venue for your face-to-face class. A pen and paper would be advantageous but not essential.

What to expect
Classroom-based learning with interactive activities - No work placement required - Tutor-led sessions and group discussions - Opportunities to build confidence and communication skills Assessment Assessment is portfolio-based and includes: - Written assignments - Practical tasks such as creating posters or leaflets - Tutor observations and oral questioning

Where can it lead to?
Upon successful completion, learners may progress to: - NCFE Level 2 Certificate in the Early Years Practitioner - Apprenticeships in childcare - Volunteering or entry-level roles in early years settings
