Description

Learn to identify and manipulate aperture, shutter speed, and ISO settings to achieve desired exposure and creative effects.
Practise applying fundamental composition techniques beyond basic framing to create more visually engaging photographs.  

What will I learn?
In this course, you will learn to use your camera beyond basic manual, aperture priority and shutter priority settings, putting it to use with a series of more advanced learning tasks, editing where needed with set Photoshop elements. You will learn about filters for landscape, sun rise and sunset photography and develop knowledge for depth of field and still life processes. You will explore portrait photography, using natural light and shadows.

What will I need to take part?
You need a DSLR/BRIDGE Camera, manuals, leads. These courses are not suitable for compact cameras. Please bring a notebook and pen.

What to expect
The course is taught by tutor demonstration and practical activities with critique of images in a group and individual support. You will complete an individual project with one-to-one support. Be prepared to practise between sessions. Tutors use Google Classroom to help make course resources available both during and after this session. Where can it lead to?
Don't let this course be the end of your developing photography skills. Review and practise the skills you have learnt and take pride in developing your growing portfolio and enjoy presenting your work in different formats. You can look out for a local camera club to share your interests with other photographers and explore further techniques with online resources. Your tutor will discuss further ideas to take you forward.

Course eligibility and fees
This course is for residents of Northamptonshire aged 19+. Fees are payable on enrolment as published on the booking page. If you are in receipt of certain benefits or in employment and earning a low salary, you could be eligible for reduced fees.
