Description

Build on the skills you have gained during your Year 1 beginners courses. This is an intermediate level course. You will learn about tenses and develop your vocabulary on a range of topics.  

Course aim
To enable you to hold a simple conversation in the language on general topics using different tenses (present, past or future).

Course outcomes
a) read and understand simple information from menus, tourist information and short articles b) recognise and use part tense / future tense c) use vocabulary on a range of general topics and daily activities d) ) show an appreciation of some of the customs and culture of the countries where the language is spoken

How will the course be taught?
A communicative approach. All four skills (speaking, reading, listening & writing) are practised, with the main emphasis on speaking. Learners engage in interactive language activities participating in group & pair work. Learners will also be offered guidance in self-study and set optional homework tasks.

Could I gain a certificate?
At least one year's previous study or equivalent to foundation GSCE.

What do I need to bring / have ready?
Writing materials, note book, small dictionary. You may wish to purchase the course book and the tutor will advise you.
