What will I learn?
This is an intermediate level course, following on from year 1 part 3.? You will need to have completed 40 hours or year 1 of learning or have a “rusty” GCSE or equivalent knowledge of the language for these courses. You will be learning about tenses and extending your vocabulary on a range of topics including menus, tourist information and articles. There are 3 parts to language courses, and it is advisable to enrol for part 1, then part 2 and?part 3. Most parts are 10 sessions each.? We will contact the tutor who may wish to give you an informal assessment to check if the course is right for you.

What will i need to take part?
Writing materials, notebook, small dictionary.? You may also need to buy a course textbook; the tutor will advise you? (Online courses only) This course is delivered online using Google Classroom and Google Meet. You do not need any login to join the video Meet call.? To join Google Classroom you simply need a Gmail address and its password. Please check the confirmation email you receive after you book with Adult Learning for joining details. Course information is also on My Account when you are logged in to the Adult Learning website. What to expect
Learning a new language can be fun, a challenge and a good way to know more about the culture of the countries where the language is spoken.?Our language courses cover the 4 skills: speaking, listening, reading and writing.? You will engage in interactive language activities, participating in group and pair work.? You will be offered guidance on self-study and have the opportunity to complete homework tasks. Tutors use Google Classroom to help make course resources available both during and between sessions. Please take advantage of joining your Classroom when invited to do so. Sessions will be delivered live by the tutor, and you will be expected to have your camera turned on. Sessions will be interactive and will involve tutor input and group conversations.

Where can it lead to?
Following completion of year 2 part 1 you will have the opportunity to progress to a year 2 part 2 course.

Course eligibilty and fees
This course is for adult residents of Northamptonshire aged 19+. If fees apply, they are payable on enrolment as published on the booking page. If you are in receipt of certain benefits, in employment and earning a low salary or aged 66 or over, you could be eligible for reduced fees.
