Description

Begin your journey to learning a new language. This is a perfect course for beginners and no previous knowledge is required. You will start gaining a good grounding in the language.  

Course description
Perfect course for beginners to learn to communicate simply with basic vocabulary and phrases in situations you will encounter such as introducing yourself, greetings and eating out. It also includes an insight into the life and culture of China.

Course Outcomes
a) Demonstrate basic pronunciation following Pinyin, especially the tones when speaking Mandarin Chinese b) Identify and read out basic words and phrases. c) Recognise basic vocabulary in some everyday situations d) Show an appreciation of some of the customs and culture of China

How will the course be taught?
A communicative approach is used. All four skills (speaking, reading, listening, and writing) are practised. Learners engage in interactive language activities, participating in group and pair work. Learners will also be offered guidance in self-study and set optional homework tasks.

Could I gain a certificate?
No, the course is aimed at a wide range of learners with general interest in the language and no prior knowledge of the language is required as the course is for complete beginners

Writing materials, you may need to buy a course book, the tutor will advise you.
