This course is ideal if you are looking to gain a qualification through a flexible self-study approach. You can start the course anytime throughout the year and can be completed within 12 weeks. The course is delivered through our online platform, where you will be given the relevant learning materials and assessments for this qualification. This course is designed to provide learners with a comprehensive understanding of end-of-life care, making it ideal for those working in health and social care or supporting individuals during their final stages of life.

Throughout the course, you will explore key aspects of end-of-life care, including pain management, dementia care, and the emotional impact of loss and grief. The learning materials are structured to help you recognize the needs of individuals, understand best practices, and develop strategies to provide compassionate support.

The qualification is accredited by NCFE CACHE and is available online, allowing you to study at your own pace while receiving guidance from a dedicated tutor. Upon successful completion, learners will receive a Level 2 Certificate, which can enhance career prospects in fields such as palliative care, nursing, and social work.

Additionally, government funding may be available for eligible learners, making this an accessible opportunity to gain valuable knowledge in end-of-life care.  

What will I learn?
The problems faced and support needed by people nearing the end of life is wide-ranging and a good understanding of pain management, support and quality of life is essential for all carers. On this course will ensure you can manage pain and discomfort and that you understand care planning in end of life care.

You will need a laptop, PC or tablet and a stable internet connection. You will also be required to complete an online initial assessment to join this course.

This course is useful for people working in a wide range of care settings, including hospices, care homes, care in the community, and primary care.

Course eligibility and fees
This course is government funded; you must meet the following criteria to be able to study for free: If you are in receipt of Jobseeker's Allowance, ESA, Universal Credit or any other means-tested UK benefit (and your income excluding benefits is less than £952 per month or £1534 per month for joint benefit claim), or you are employed and earning less than £25,750 per year you will be eligible to attend this course for the free. You must currently live in England You must have been resident in the UK/EU for 3+ years, for purposes other than study You must be over the age of 19 You must not be on an apprenticeship Eligibility is subject to providing evidence. In the unlikely event that you are unable to complete the course and need to withdraw, there is a £125 cancellation fee if you enrol and do not complete or withdraw from the course. This fee is to cover administration costs. Even if you don't meet these criteria, you may still be eligible for learner support which could cover the cost of the course fees.
