Description

What will I learn?
This course aims to do several things: find out about different aspects of neurodiversity, and how schools and the public system aim to support the families of neurodiverse children including the journey towards diagnosis. Parents, who are really the front-line experts on managing their neurodiverse children, have an opportunity to share experience of parenting and dealing with issues in their families and wider community. Lastly we hope that this opportunity in a safe, small group will help build parent’s confidence and self esteem in their own parenting skills.

What will I need to take part?
You may like to bring a pen and paper to make notes. Class resources and videos will be available to you through Google Classroom, which is easy to access in and beyond session times on mobile devices or laptop.

What to expect
3-5 weekly sessions in a small discussion group, led by an experienced Adult Learning tutor. Plenty of opportunity for discussing experience alongside some structured information about neurodiversity. Where possible we hope that a SEN specialist will contribute to the sessions.
