Description

The aim of this qualification is to provide learners with the knowledge and understanding essential to the health and social care sector. This course will provide you with a good understanding of the health and care environments and develop the skills needed for a career within this sector.

The aim of this qualification is to provide learners with the knowledge and understanding essential to the health and social care sector. This course will provide you with a good understanding of the health and care environments and develop the skills needed for a career within this sector.

How will the course be taught?
This qualification is ideal for learners looking to work within the health and social care sector. You do not need to have previous experience or qualification in working within health and social to undertake this qualification. The topics that you will be studying include - Equality, diversity and rights in health and social care - Safeguarding and protection in health and social care - Human growth and development This course will run over 14 weeks. - Week 1 - Induction and enrolment - Week 2 to 13 - Teaching of course content - Week 14 - Information, advice and guidance for progression. All units will be internally assessed using a range of methods. Knowledge-based outcomes can be assessed using non-mandatory assessment tasks (provided in this specification for Tutors convenience).

Could I gain a certificate?
This course is accredited by the awarding body NCFE CACHE. On successful completion of all elements of the course, you will receive a Level 2 certificate.

What do I need to bring / have ready?
All our learning resources are available on our online platform Google Classroom. However, you may wish to bring a pen and notepad to make notes. If this is an online course, a laptop, PC or tablet and a stable internet connection will be needed.

Further Information
Upon achievement of this qualification, learners will be able to progress onto our Level 2 Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care. The Certificate supports progression to further learning, or to employment within the health and social care sector.

Entry requirements
Entry requirements: This course requires a grade D/3 in English GCSE or equivalent (Functional skills: level 1) Please note: You will be required to complete an online initial assessment to join this course. Eligibility: If you are in receipt of jobseekers allowance, employment support allowance, or any other means-tested UK benefit (and your income excluding benefits is less than £617 per month or £988 per month for a joint benefit claim), or you are employed and earning less than £20,319 per year you will be eligible to attend this course for free. Even if you do not meet these criteria, you may still be eligible for learner support which could cover the cost of the course fees. Eligibility is subject to providing evidence.
