Description

Perfect course for beginner of Mandarin learners. You will understand and lay a good foundation of Mandarin speaking, writing, spelling. It also includes an insight into the life and culture of ancient China and modern China i.e Dragon Boat festival , Chinese Cuisine , Four inventions  

Course Description
This course is for learners who have had 40 hours of tuition in Mandarin. It is to enable the learner to consolidate their basic knowledge of the language, gain some confidence in speaking and extend vocabulary to enable them to move to year 2 part 1. Topics will include shopping for food and directions.

Course Outcomes
a) Demonstrate accurate pronunciation in basic sentences b) Demonstrate an understanding of basic spoken language c) Communicate slowly in basic everyday situations d) Use longer basic sentences on topics covered e) Show an appreciation of some of the customs and culture of China.

How will the course be taught?
A communicative approach is used. All four skills (speaking, reading, listening, and writing) are practised with the main emphasis on speaking. Learners engage in interactive language activities, participating in group and pair work. Learners will also be offered guidance in self-study and set optional homework tasks. The course will be taught online via Zoom and will be a live interactive class Joining instructions along with unique log in for the session will be emailed to you by our support services team prior to the course start date so please check your email address prior to the class. To take part in the course learners will need: a computer, laptop, phone, or tablet connected to the internet and able to view a live video stream.

Could I gain a certificate?
This course is not accredited. A certificate of attendance can be obtained if requested.

Writing materials, you may need to buy a course book, the tutor will advise you.
