Description

This course is to learn more about the subject and develop new skills. Using Bacchus & Ariadne, by Titian 1522 as a springboard; you will examine why images within this artwork "look" as they do.  

Course aim
This universal programme, subsidised by the ESFA is designed to support learners to take up a new interest, gain a good level of proficiency and in time use the skills to progress to a range of options; generate an additional income, become self-employed, secure better employment or access further training, further and higher education.

Course Outcomes
This online course, using Zoom for delivery is to learn more about the subject and develop new skills. Using Baccus & Ariadne, by Titian 1522 as a springboard; learners will examine why images within this artwork 'look' as they do. Discover the story behind the text and how five fingers can help you analyse an image. ''Strike a Pose'' invites the learner to observe why art images within the cannon of Western European Art History look a certain way within a given text.

How will the course be taught?
Identifiy the 'Serpentine Pose' within ''Bacchus & Ariadne'' by Titian Circa 1520-1523. Evaluate and Engage within the narratives surriunding the image. Discover: Form and function. How these elements build the narrative. Utilise the hand: Who, What, When, Where, Why? And aid to analyse. Identify the art genres and for each genre a) Identify what defines the genre and its timeline. b) Be able to discuss examples of the genre. c) Be able to compare and contrast the genres.

What do I need to bring / have ready?
The course will taught online via Zoom and will be a live interactive class Joining instructions along woth unique log in for the session will be emailed to you by our support services team prior to the course start date so please check your email address prior to the class. To Take part in the course learners will need: A computer, laptop, phone or tablet connected to the internet and able to view a live video stream. We also recommend that you have a pen and notepad to hand during the session.
