Description

This course is an introduction to the world of ancient Greece. During the day, the course traces the history of the Greek civilisation through its sites and monuments, archaeological discoveries and finds. The course draws on the rich material culture of the evidence, looking at the discovery and finds from sites like Mycenae and Knossos, the city of Athens, the royal tombs of Vergina, Delphi and other sanctuaries of the gods. This is a good introduction for those considering visiting Greece or who are curious about ancient Greek history, culture and society. The course is divided into two sessions with a break for lunch (not provided).
